I would rather pay more for products to ensure the safety and quality of them and preserve job availibility rather than offshore jobs to save a buck. Anybody agree?

Absolutely, it would be a win for everyone ( except for the guys who are making all the money pedaling this crap ), involved. It would keep Americans working, it would allow us to monitor product quality, it would keep the money here and allow us to spend it on things like infrastructure, and make us stronger rather than make our enemy stronger, and make no mistake China is NOT our friend. I know someone who just moved to a new apartment, she went and bought some stuff ( all made in China of course ) every piece fell apart very quickly or didn%26#039;t fit together in the first place, so someone please tell me where the savings are, please!!!

If you want to reduce unemployment by getting Americans crappy jobs, you%26#039;d do a lot better to report illegal aliens than boycott chinese manufactures.|||yes yes yes|||Thats a myth, that Americans would pay more to keep manufacturing jobs inside America.

It has been shown time and time again, that Americans will shop by price, not by where the products are made.

Just ask Levis Strous company, they had a union factory in El Paso making blue jeans, they lost money 5 years straight, while Americans bought cheaper imported Blue jeans, instead of Levis.

Finally the company had no choice, except to move their manufacturing to central america.

Americans want cheap prices, more than they want jobs,

So now they got what they wanted.

I still remember when I went to a party with my best friend, it was at one of his union buddies house.

They started ragging me on driving a nissan.

Untill I pointed out, my Nissan was made locally, while their Ford pickup trucks were all made in mexico.|||it sound good what ever happen to LOOK for the Union label|||So your saying you would never set foot in walmart, or a dollar store ever again. LIAR|||Nice dream but the markets don%26#039;t work that way. Right now products sold by US companies are designed and marketed in the US but assembled in China. This employs US designers and management. All that would happen would be that the products would be assembled in Korea; designed and marketed by a European company at a better price than the US company. The US company would not be able to compete in the free market. The US company would go out of business and not only would the production workers be out of jobs but so would the designers and managment.

Like blacksmithing, manufacturing is an old industry better left to 3rd world countries and companies that can afford to automate.|||i try to not purchase chinese made goods when possible. despite the hatred of walmart by many, walmart sells many products produced here in the US and the products are clearly identified as such.

If we had a system in place where all US products were clearly identified and compared to a foreign product, i%26#039;d pay twice as much to purchase and support the US products.|||Unemployment is at 4%.....you cant get much better than that.
